t-5 linning up problem.

i cant get my damn t-5 to slid into place with my new 350,whats wrong??ive tried everything that i know how,it goes most of the way in,then it stops,right where the teeth meet,they do line up also,cuz i cant turn the shaft then in any position,any help is much appreciated,thanks

first of all do not force the transmission in, i had the same problem with mine, when tightening the pressure plate, the disc will sometimes move, either press the clutch in and stick the alignment tool back in or loosen the pressure plate and re align it, the transmission has to be at the right angle and it should slide right in like butter.

Engine: 383 with AFR heads.
Transmission: richmond 5 speed
Axle/Gears: 1991 w/1LE.auburn pro series.2.73's
use a pilot tool with splines and then loosen the pressure plate at the flywheel. then slowly retighten it down always checking for free movement when you slide the pilot tool in and out. if when its all tightened down again and the pilot tool is able to be removed and installed with hardly any effort-put the b-housing back on and install trans. mind the fit of the t.o. bearing on the front bearing retainer too
