I got the Torgue arm unbolted at the rear end and have the tail shaft unbolted. It will slide out so far then stop. I don't want to hammer on it cause it looks aluminum and don't want to bend or break the shaft coming out of the tranny itself. Am I not pulling hard enough or what?

I hope this is a joke but if it's not.... go to the other end of the driveshaft and unbolt the straps that hold the u joints in place.
I did that, when I pull on the drive shaft it comes off so far then stops. Why is it stopping?
Torque arm and drive shaft are both unbolted fromt the rear end. I have the 4 bolts out of the tranny tail shaft. I'm trying to pull the tail shaft, torque arm, and drive shaft off the end of the tranny to replace the electric speedo gears. But they slide off so far then its like they get caught on somthing.

Now I see. It would be best to bolt the tail haousing back to the trans and tap on the driveshaft yolk with a hammer. This way there will be less stress put on the transmissions output shaft and if anything does break it'll be the tail housing which is easier to replace.
I got it off. I had the rear of the driveshaft on the ground and with its weight was binding on the tail shaft. I had to keep the driveshaft as level as possible with the tranny as I could and it slid right off.
Now is there a trick to getting the speedo gear back on without ruining the gear?
Thanks.

You can use a big opened end wrench. 1 1/4" I think.
Usually the plastic gear goes on somewhat easy with no tools. Put the wrench over the output shaft and tap on it to install the gear and distribute the load evenly.
