Effort Required in T-5 Clutch

How much effort is required in pushing in the clutch for your T-5. Mine is a constant, fairly tough pressure that starts at the top and continues down to the floor, as in the clutch never stops pushing back or gets easier to push in or let out. My dad's 67 vette mechanical clutch starts out a little hard, then is easy as heck to push in after that as in the clutch just barely pushes back when it's floored. I also drove a friends VW (like a 97 Jetta) that feels just like the vette's clutch. Are the weights on my clutch not working right? Do I need a new clutch? Thanks

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
My hydraulic setup in the 83 SC is the same way, it reqiures a fair bit of effort along the entire travel; however when the car had the original mechanical linkage in it (changed it over when I did the V6 to V8 swap), the effort was much less...almost wish I coulda kept it, but oh well...

My 92 takes about the same pressure all the way down, that is how hydraulic clutch's usually are, but mine is pretty easy to push in. You should try pushing in the clutch on my friends 70 Cuda 440, now that is tough!!!! Maybe you just need to exercise your left leg a little

One day while driving my car the clutch got really hard to press in. Normally it is really easy to press in. When my mechanic looked at it we he found that the bolt the clutch fork pivots around somehow backed out some. All he did was tighten it back up and everything was fine. Only thing that sucks is that he found the problem after i replaced the slave cylinder.
