2.73 to 3.23

How much would my speedometer be off if i changed my rear gears to 3.23?

Engine: 350, ZZ4 equivalent
Transmission: Pro-Built Road Race 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23 Dana 44
Well at lower speeds it will be less off. You can figure it out using this simple formula:

Old gear ratio/New gear ration X speed speedo says

2.73/3.23*60MPH = 51 MPH

So that means when your speedo says 60 MPH your real speed will be 51 MPH

here are a few more:

2.73/3.23*20MPH =17 MPH
2.73/3.23*40MPH =34 MPH
2.73/3.23*80MPH =67.5 MPH
2.73/3.23*100MPH = 84.5 MPH

Hi, I don't know if your wheels are 17's which mine are 45/245/17 I did this swap a while back from 2.73 to 3.23 and if your present gear combo is 17T/38T then you will need a driven gear 44T. But if you have 16's wheel then this won't help.
