Building up a T-5?
Building up a T-5?
I dont know of any stronger internal parts that are made for the thirdgen t-5, but there is some stuff out there for the ford version.
My question is can the internals for the ford t-5 be used on the GM version. I would like to use the hardened input shaft that is offered for the ford version. I know the spline count is different, but that should not be a problem if I use a mustang clutch disk. I dont know about the length and diameter of it though. I know the make a piolt bearing to adapt a chevy trans to a ford car. I wonder if someone makes one to adapt a ford tranny to a chevy car. Even if I cant use the stronger input shaft I would still like to use the main shaft of gears (1-3). I can get ford t-5 chromemoly gearsets with a steeper first gear ratio (2.95).
Can it be done?

Well I says here in my car craft tranny guide that the ford 83-93 T5's have a 7.18" input shaft length and the 94-95 fords have 7.85", GM f-body's are 6.66".
