Vacum modulator

I am currently in the middle of swapping in a th 350 i pretty much know enerything i need to except the vacum modulator. it controls the shift points but how do i adjust it and what do i need special to get it to work right. sorry if i sounds stupid but i am pretty illiterate when it comes to transmissions. thanks soo much guys

I don't think the stock ones are adjustable. It'll have to be connected to manifold vacuum.

Get yourself one of the ones with a red stripe. Not a pink stripe, not a green stripe, not the big funky black can; get a red stripe one. There is no "almsot as good", get the right thing.

It connects to a source of continuous manifold vacuum, like the feed to the cruise control from the manifold.

There is a little screw down inside the fitting where the vacuum line plugs on. Screwing it CW raises the shift points. 2 turns would make a massive adjustment; ½ turn increments are usually enough.
