Drivetrain Swapping
I have a bone stock 82 Z28 (Crossfire, yeah yeah,, I know) that I have had since 84. The car has very high mileage.(250K+ miles).
I have found a 87 GTA with the 350 TPI, 700R4 and the 9 bolt 3.27 rear end.
I can pick-up the car in 2 days if it does not sell from under me.
I’m wanting to install the 700R4 in my 82. I know there will be issues with the cross-member, but want to be sure that the tranny will bolt up to my 305. Anyone know for sure if the Pontiac tranny will mate-up to the Chev 305?
Also, I want to install the disc brake rear-end in my Z. Anything other than the hyd brake line connections I should be worried about?
Still undecided abt swapping the engines. The TPI eng has a spun bearing at minimum.
