viper tranny into 89 IROC

i am purchasing a t56 from a 1999 viper and was wondering what needs to be done to swap this tranny into my 89 IROC. i know whats involved in swapping in an lt1 t56 but i also realize that the viper input/ouput shafts are 31 spline and not 26 (like the lti t56). how do i get around this? also, will i have to get a custom driveshaft made or can i use the 1LE aluminum shaft that im using now? is there anything other than the things ive mentioned here that i need to worry about? does anyone have any experience with this swap, or know of where i might be able to get help with it???

thank you.

Damien

You're going to need to put an LT1 input shaft into the transmission unless you get extremely lucky and find that a viper clutch will work with an f-body pressure plate & flywheel. I'd imagine that you're going to need to use an LT1 tail shaft that has the torque arm mount. You'll also need the custom yoke for the drive shaft, but you already knew that.
