what kind of tranny---th700R4

Hey, i know i have the 700r4..in my 1987 Trans-Am..but i just bought a BM shift improver kit for it,,it says for non electric trannys...what is mine and what else should i know about it

You have the non-electric. In about '93-94 GM changed these to the 4l60e, same tranny but controlled electronically by the ecm.

Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Yup, that's the tranny.

The other thing you need to know is take that B&M kit back and get a Transgo instead.
