9-Bolt or 10-Bolt Posi? Please look
Is the posi in the following two pictures a 9-bolt or a 10-bolt? How can I be sure? If it is a 9-bolt, is it a series 2 or series 3 carrier? How can I tell. I got this for free and I am praying that it is a 9 bolt.
Also, if the pictures aren't good enough, I can email bigger ones.
Thanks.

It's not a 9 bolt posi unit. This is what a 9 bolt posi unit looks like

How many ring gear bolts are on there? A 9 bolt has 8.

This one has 10 bolts and has a US patent number on it. Miles, I actually took the picture that you e-mailed to me with me to the guy's house. It didn't look right, but I wanted it in my possession before I to made sure. I will give this back to him and tell him that it is a 10-bolt (he didn't know either). Heh heh. He said he got it in 1990 and has been carrying it around with him ever since...
OK. Looks like the freebie is out. Do you have a 3.27 ring gear, associated 9-bolt posi and install kits in stock? I ran a test-n-tune yesterday and was ripping off some killer times for street tires, but the one-legged thing was KILLING me off the turns. I think having the winter to get my mental game together has had an effect... Respond here or feel free to e-mail me.

Yes, everything is in stock again now
(web page is not updated yet
. Send me an email and we will get it figured out. I do have some used 3.27 ratios for cheap, otherwise the new ones are actually 3.23 ratios now.
