I have an 86 Z28 that has the original five speed transmission on its last leg. I want to replace it with a stronger 5- speed since I have replaced the original 305 with a 350. I have given some consideration to putting a ford world class transmission in. The only "modification" needed would be a different clutch disk, I was told. So does anyone have any recomendations out there for me?

 

T-56 its a great trans and oyu get a 6th gear. It is extremely under rated and will hold the power of your t56 no prob. I have heard the differences in putting it in really isn't that bad.

 

Thanks for the reply man. I have looked in to that because one of my futer plans is putting in a six speed, but the trans a lone is about 2 grand and i'm a poor college student. I was really woundering if the ford HD world class would work. Thanks any way though!
