TV cable problem? or did somtin jus decided b a PITA

im no expert on tranny's at all.. i did a fluid and filter change bout 2 weeks ago.. and as of late my shifter has gotten real "playful".. meaning when its in gear there is alot of play within it... the stick physically moves id say 1/4 to 1/2 inch but will stay in Driver or reverse or wateva its in... now when its in park it seems like there is somtin pullin it back so as soon as i push the button its almost immediatly goes into reverse...

is this a TV cable problem?

its a 700r4 auto (Duh)

Down by the trans on the cable there is a metal bracket that holds the cable to the trans. Make sure this is connected to the trans, (you have to take it off when you remove the trans pan to drain the oil). If not this will do the problems that you describe.

thats sounds like a problem that i had, when you took your pan off you took off you shift linkage. when i replaced mine it was a little off and it would not go into park. you should adjust it forward so it goes into park correctly. as for the shifting check the tv cable, you may need to reset it. to do this you push the clip on it i believe and pull it towards the back of the vehicle, then back to it original position and it will reset itself...

good luck
