I got the 700r4, from my 87 GTA parts car, into my 82 Z-28 last week.
This week, I'm gonna swap-in the 9-bolt disc rear-end.
I know I'll need to swap the proportioning valve, but will I need to swap the master-cyl too??
Anything else I'll have to swap??
Emerg brake cables?
Seems like I read somewhere the disc rear-end has metric brake line threads while the drum rears have SAE, and an adapter is needed.
Is this true?
Anyone know where I can find one?

 

Your brake lines should be just fine. You will hqave to change the master cylinder, and ebrake cables. Other than that, your lookin at a direct bolt-in!

 

Got the 9-bolt in tonight.
Wasn't too bad at all.
I did run into an issue with the brake lines. After doing a search, I found 82-83s & maybe 84s have SAE.
The flare is also different.
After abt an hour at the auto parts store roaming thru their fittings cabinet, I had an "adapter kit"
Now to get the emerg brakes working...
