What exactly does the throwout bearing do, and what causes it to go bad?

What exactly does the throwout bearing do, and what causes it to go bad?

Wondering if my driving caused the problem. Thanks

if you like resting your foot on the clutch pedal all of the time then the throw out bearing will wear out quicker and also wear marks on the fingers of the clutch.
as far as the cop question that depends on if there is a road block ahead:nono:
