Can't powershift to 4th

Was wondering if there is a good reason why my transmission will not let me powershift in to 4th to save my life... i can go 1-2-3-5-3-2-1 w/out the clutch, but just cannot get into 4th. There a good reason for this?

Thanks

Unless you plan on replacing you t5 pretty soon, I woulndt recommend powershifting...

Yeah. There IS a good reason for it. Transmissions are NOT designed for powershifting. That good enuff for ya ? If dont want to change it in the next couple of months.... dont powershift it. The 0.001 gain it might net ya at the track is REEEEALLY not worth it.

Its not going into 4th basically cause its not supposed to. The tranny is designed to let the synchros align the gears, depressing the clutch allows this.

Right. BUT, if you do the synchros' job for them--- by getting the RPMs and the speed in the right place, you can shift with out them.. So unless i'm missing something (feel free to enlighten me), there isn't a good reason why you shouldn't be able to powershift as long as you have your speed & rpms in the right place.... That's where my question is. I'm not saying it's neccesarily the best thing for the tranny to powershift, especially with a t5... But the way i understand things i can't think of a reason why you shouldn't physically be able to...

Its quite possible that you may have transmission problems, worn synchros, etc... I know what you mean that you "should" be able to do it, but were talkin t5's here!
