correct fuel pressure reading in the 2.8 and others....

my stock oil pressure guage stays a little below the half way mark, like one line down, is this correct pressure? also is there a way i can measure my tranny oil pressure so i wont havta keep popping the hood open and check the tranny fluid level every time i refill for gas. Also when i accelerate the oil pressure needle rises, when stopping the needle falls, is this normal also?
Thanks........ Abe

Fuel pressure should be around 45-49 Oil PSI should be around 35-50 Idle and yes increase as the RPM's increase. Fall when RPM's decrease. Tranny PSI guage, yes doable. But it will not give level out of PSI. You can go to www.digikey.com or www.digi-key.com (hell both go to same place so...)and buy componets to MAKE a level indicator. Expect to spend around 50ish...

If you want I can get a list of parts needed tomarrow from a teacher here. Complete with instructions too...

I thought fuel pressure on a 2.8 was 35-40.

I asked my instructor about the level indicator and he is gonna look around for something.

I have a 3.1 and larger injectors and that my PSI reading... Sorry I forgot that...

I asked my instructor about the level indicator and he is gonna try to find something. Basically what your gonna get is something similar to a gas guage though. You may have to drop the pan, to install the float sensor, no promises though.

Just a FYI, in general: With -only- larger injectors on an otherwise stock fuel delivery system, PSI would not be raised. In fact, with larger injectors on a stock pump, you get higher fuel flow with lowered fuel pressure at WOT.

well my home built A/f gauge works ..for 10 bucks its a good deal...

its not worth it to build a system for level of fluid in tranny...its not really necessary unless u have a leaky tranny...in that case it might be cheaper to fix the tranny than try to build a gauge

Yeah, we should all be checking our fluids every now and then anyway. And don't forget about the power steering fluid!

You gotta start things up, again, huh? I was posting that info for everyone else! Did I mention you at all? NO! I was trying to avoid "future" questions by other v6 members about increased PSI just by adding higher flow injectors.

And how would giving your adjusted fuel pressure numbers help anyone looking for the correct fuel pressure reading of the 2.8?
