2.8 carburated v6 what should my idle rpm be??

2.8 carburated v6 what should my idle rpm be??

its driving me nuts i have it at about 900 rpm but if i have to come to a quick stop ..i stall??? any help would be great thanx

900-1000 rpms are idle for a carb.
