Water Pump

Yea my cousin put in another engine in my Camaro today out of a 86 Firebird 2.8. It runs great, Idles great, Revs great. Just so happen my water pump is shot and almost all my coolant leaked out. We're putting in a new water pump tomorrow, My uncle said he revved it like 10 times and it popped once through the carb. This is the water pump doing this. The water pump should be easy to take out and install???

Oh, lord, no, it's not. Scraping that gasket area is a nightmare. Be careful when scraping the timing chain cover; that's aluminum; gouge it too much with the gasket scraper and the new gasket won't seal well. I use Permatex Hi-Tack (red) gasket sealant (in a can with a brush in the cap) for that gasket.

So, this is the third engine so far? Damn; and I'm still on my original 232,000 mile one. Hopefully this one will work for you.
