well good, i knew that was dumb. why oh why send all the extra heat up there?

do they make plenium spacers for our car???

I migh just make some anyways.

I know a big drag racer trick is to use plywood carb spacers, cause they carry no heat what so ever, but only last a few passes cause they soak up gas.

but with our system it is only air, so some plywood spacers covered in some silicone should really keep the upper plenium temp down.

it gets too hot too fast.

One theory is that it helped the car warm up faster. Another one is that it prevented the TB blade from freezing in cold weather... but I'm in NJ, with cold weather every winter, and I've never had it freeze up. Hell, engine heat alone would unfreeze it. It doesn't lower emissions, either. 'Fact, if I recall correctly, the 4th gen 3.8 and 5.7 f-bodies don't have any TB coolant lines.

just an FYI, 4th gen 5.7L F-bodies DO have TB coolant lines and the 4th gen 3.8L flows coolant to the TB from the block via the intake manifold.
