i do, i got a tpi dual snorkel on eba for $19.00. then i cut off the the bottom of the lower part of the air box. one thing dont make the ram aor behind the foglights. it cuts airflow to the radiator . i had it and it would make my temps sky rocket. i took al the tubing off and left the 2 K&N's exposed to the cold air that hit the radiator. i acutally had a better gain with tubing off. but the hardest part for me was cutting the lower air box. it was a real pita. you will notice a good gain. mine shift'd at like 5250 when i floored and after that it was like 5500. it was well worth the time.Good Luck

really good mod

you will need to fabricate a pipe though to be placed where the TPI or 2.8 would have had its MAF sensor

i made one out of tin and duct tape
it doesnt look too pretty, but it gets the job done

And what is a MAF? Is it the plug in the stock crappy air cleaner? I was wondering about that, I took out the sensor for the stock air cleaner once, and my engine shook like a mother. If I was to get this, which I will, where will I put this thing to keep it working right? Please help all that can do.

no thats the IAT sensor. An MAF is on the 2.8 you dont have one so dont worry about it. if u get a tpi dual snorkel then it has a sensor built into the box. all u have to do is splice the wire and make an extention. i have no done this yet. my is still plugged in to the old air box. im not sure if they make a connector or not. oh and my grandparent used to live in broomall but they moved last month. they lived on 221 Parkview ave. anyways good luck

Like Blue said, I wouldn't ram the air cuase the radiator needs to share that air too. just cut the bottom of the air box and leave the K&Ns exposed. Water and dirt shouldn't be a problem.

On a side note, You should consider to build a custom CAI (Cold Air Intake) down the road, cuase the stock snorkel is way restictive, just look at the curves that air has to make. By custom tubing a Conical K&N Filter as far from the engine as possible and placeing a box around it. Then drill holes for outside "COLD" air to get in, then the air coming into the engine is much cooler, flows in faster, makes an awsome sound, and most important. you get more horsepower. The colder the air, the more horsepower you cn make.

hey, since basically everyone seems to believe that cutting the bottom's of the boxes off is a better approach, would it be ok, to just buy the top portion of the snorkel.... or would that mean that there would be no place to mount the air filters? i've never actually gotten to look under the hood of a v8 so i don't know. i want to do this, to my '91 so if i get a reply soon enough (tonight) then i'll get one from ebay.
and one other question about CIA. would it be possible and efficient to use the dual snorkel to make two pathways for cold air (double the air)? one on the left side one on the right..... actually now that i'm thinking about it the battery might get in the way..... hmm... well, thanks for the help.

you are going to need the air box and the snorkel. You basicly only cut the air box in half. You need the air box to hold the filters in place and to bolt down the snorkel to get a good seal after the filters, cuase if air got in AFTER the filter, that would take away from the whole point of have the filter in the first place, you dont want dirt or water in the TB...
