IAC Valve, Stupid GM people
I am having a strange problem with my IAC valve. My valve has been bad for some time now. I have cleaned it a few times, it works for a while, but eventually craps out again. So i go to the local autozone, pick up a new IAC valve to solve my problem for good. Right away i noticed that this one plugs in different. Instead of plugging in the bottom of the valve, it plugs in the side of the valve. SO i think no big deal and buy it anyways, i go home take my old one off, install the new one, and guess what, the wires will reach, but you have to pull like a **** to get them there. Now, to me that seems like a problem waiting to happen, i would assume those wires could stretch out and maybe even seperate. So i take it back, go to gm to buy one, and of course it has the same problem. So Gm told me to cut and splice a piece of wire in there to extend it. So before i go cutting up my harness, has anyone else had this problem? I would rather not cut my harness, how can GM sell me a part that won't work unlsee i hack up my car? Any ideas

Sure, no problem, just go to a junkyard and get a whole throttle body for $25. Just a dumb question, are you just cleaning the tip of the IAC valve, or are you also cleaning the IAC passageways?
