You know so little my little POS Ford driver friend....... as long as you weigh down the back it does not matter the weight in the front. For instance take my grandfathers car, its a Porsche 914 (mid-engine) it has a all aluminum v-8 but the front weighs EXACTLY the same amount as the back and he can pull over a G in a corner without the rear tires breaking loose.
Its all about how you transfer weight and balance not engine size

you guys are slow in more than one way aren't you.
that wasn't my kill list, ha ha, those cars would wup on me, well all except the bug and the 82 camaro I had.
those where an answer to a question that had been asked about what performance cars I have driven.
hey wayne rs, wanna come down here, you can ride with my friend in his 84 z and see how he takes 90 degree suggested 15 mph turns at 70 and over. you can ask him yourself, he's on the board, his name is purple_monkey. well I think that's what it is still.

I didn't say that was your kill list I just thought Id add that in there after the 75 in a 90 degree turn mark . Whose slow now ?
wait , first it was 50 in a 90 degree turn , then it was 70 . Make up your mind
No , I think I'll pass for the ride , I like walking away from camaros , not being pulled out of them while there upside down

Notice how flat it sits in the corner, and yes those are 335/30/17's on the rear little boy. You've just been schooled.

Are you trying to tell me a car 50/50 weight balance with total weight of 3500 Lbs will corner just the same as a car 50/50 with total weight of 2000 Lbs?
You get the ICan'tBelieveThisFrikinIdiot of the year award!

wow...takes an incredibly ballsy person to drive around a corner at 70mph when it's supposed to be taken at 15mph. I know for a fact that i wouldn't do it, and i'm a freakin pilot...we're known to be crazy. Most i'll normally do in my bird is double the posted, until things start feeling dangerous, can take a little 15mph turn down here at 40 accelling out, but it's not 90* and not every 15 mph turn is. eh, who's counting though. Oh, and i've never made my tires so much as squeel while going around that turn either. As far as what cars we can beat with our six cylinders go, i'd stick with cars of the same age at our firebird/camros. most of the vehicles from the eighties shouldn't be to much of a task for us to take out, although i'd stay away from tuned port v8 cars, and vettes
the rest will be close. If it's a TBI car, i'd try for one a year older than what you're driving, maybe two years if needed. the new cars we can take are normally ricers, autos preferably, unless you have a stick too, then it'll be a test of who can drive better. the newest car i was raelly able to take was a new eclipse RS...which is the 4 banger model, and that was a close race, the six cylinder version would have ripped me to shreads.

Holy **** some of you guys are the dumbest retards to hit the street and I would love to meet up with some of you.
Wayne, those pics were taken months ago. She now has whats in the sig and a full Saleen body kit, S-351 wing, 10" sub, and a $600 CD/MP3 player. I will have new pics up soon along with more of the 2003 Vert. And BTW Wayne, Tom, and Billy I am glad to see you haven't been struck with the "dumb **** bug" like so many other people on this damn site. Now down to business...
Ok, either your friend is retarded and you are worse for claiming that or he has every suspension mod they make for the 3rd gens and then some parts they don't make.
Come on pal, no 84 V8 F-body is going to take a 15mph turn at 70mph. My Cobra can barely take a 35mph turn at 60mph and I have IRS and a few suspension mods. So for you and your friend...
ROFLMAO, that isn't even worth arguing with. Engine size has ALOT to do with the way a car can corner. So you are telling me a M3 cant out corner a Vette? :sillylol:
Stuart, I personally could give a **** less. Oh and you have no room to be saying "If you can't walk the walk, then don't talk the talk!" with the kill list you have. Sit down a try to figure out how to beat a Civic SI.

I haven't been here long, but what I have noticed in the time I've been here is that I always seem to start some kind of accidental controversay.
I hope I'm just promoting thought, this is usually my intention.
With any car, look at its high points and work towards that. With any 60* V6, we all know that unless you drop a hole lot of cash, it will not beat a V8 in a dragrace. So don't focus your V6 towards dragracing. Focus on where it shines- Handling. Nothing greater to me than sideways g's, and the V6's are perfectly equipped for this.
Food for thought on the V6 board.

I really am insulted now. I personally wouldn't risk my car taking a 15 mph corner at 70. but trust me, I almost pissed my pants when my friend did in his camaro. no sliding, no roll, nothing at all, and the turn was hardly banked at all. he does have some suspention mods, like ws6 sway bars, some decent shocks, and some stiffer springs mabee, we don't know because it was done before he owned it. and that's about it. and I know for a fact that my brothers ws6 could equal or beat his cornering ability with a completely stock car. not to be insulting, but I think that the reason you guys don't believe me is that rs's and firebirds with v-6's really got the low end of the suspention technology. some I've heard didn't even come with a rear sway bar. and obviously thinner ones. not to mention softer springs. I can tell the difference when driving my friends 89 firebird v6 and then driving my transam. oh yes and the reason I'm afraid to push it in the corners with my car is because I have a stick, 3.73's and a posi rear (stock) so if I lose traction at all I slide. and I'm not willing to risk my car because I have ****ty 215's.

It's amazing how this thread can go for 60+ responses.
Why?
GO OUT
FIND A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN (and another and another and so on and so on...)
IMPRESS HER
MARRY HER!!!
Get/HAVE a life!!!!
With the stuff that is called "street racing" or "having fun" lately (doing doughnuts with everyone standing next to car as it spins at 2-4,000 RPM)
Man I'm impressed many here are still alive.
Only street race I ever cared about winning
High School Grad night
Going to another party
Yes, Stuart, in the 1966 Corvette!
Someone tried to pass me
3 times
at close to midnight.......
He never made it past me (try over 100 MPH & speedo was literally breaking, I was going so fast....)
UNTIL I SAW HIS WIDE BRIMMED PA STATE POLICE HAT (&he had the 1973 440 Plymouths!).
I still beat him. (Hell nearly ran him off the road when I saw that HAT!)
He ONLY beat me,
for a half hour
on the side of the road,
as I sweated........
the girl I was with told me to just sit there & shut up (good advice!-which I followed)
while I got my FIRST ticket.
(Failure to yield to a passing vehicle)
My Dad STILL doesn't know about that incident.
Close to a 30 year secret, I'd still hear about it, if he only knew......
Yeah, my Dad loves me........
Yes, my Son gets the 1968 Camaro my Wife owns, that he was brought home from the hospital in, after being born.
I think I'll save him the in-line 6 cylinder in it now!!!! the way you guys speak......
Writing this, I still recall it, easily........
MAN THAT WAS FUN.....
Luckily that was back on 1974 open PA roads, not today....
WHERE DID ALL THESE OTHER CARS COME FROM!!!!!!!!
Really sucks how one can't do all that was once done safely.
To many stupid people out there.
AND I WAS ONE, ALSO.
Helps to admit it.
Does that mean I'm cured????
NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Where are my car keys!!!!!

Stuart,
I'd do it again
IN A HEART BEAT!!!!!!
I did "Street Race" in Malibu twice in my 1974 numbers matching original Corvette.
First time
Pulled over for speeding
I told him I was trying to stay ahead of the approaching storm, I had already driven thru.
I told him
Honestly.....
Ever own an old T-Top Corvette, and it didn't leak in the rain?
My interior, literally covered in a sheet of clear plastic, even my lap. WET!
YES, I got NO TICKET!
I left him laughing!
Second
Driving thru Malibu 1-2 AM
FOLLOWED BY EVERY CHP in Malibu!
The race.....
Making it from one end of Malibu to the other without getting pulled over.
I won that race, too.
Going 40MPH in the 45 MPH, singing to myself with the window down!
See.....
Do something memorible!!!
I only WISH I COULD RACE MY OLD 1966 Corvette again.
It's gone......had it tho....
I'd do it again
