Converters, JEGS or Summit?
Ok..so I finally actually PHYSICALLY have about $500 to spend on performance for my car..locked in a little black box next to my bed. I'm going to order a Dynomax Super-Turbo catback system. First question, should I buy from JEG'S or Summit? They both have identical pricing...well, to the nearest 4 cents.
I guess it boils down to who's more reputable and does better shipping. Next question. Ive got the cat-back picked out..but I don't know what converter to buy. Jegs only carries a Dynomax Super Converter...now an 82-92 F-Body version is around $90 but it says it's only for the 5.0 L. I say bullcrap....will it fit the 2.8/3.1 system? I'm also thinking about using a Catco..I hear a lot of people with V-6's here use them, and Summit carries them while JEGS doesn't. Now, the converters I looked at are direct fit. If I shouldn't buy a direct fit, what diameter in/out and length would you recommend for my converter? And also...personal preference, which converter do you prefer, the Dynoma or the Catco? Now, I figure a 2-way Converter with a 2.5 in in/out, since that's what my whole cat-back is... Help me out guys...I want this bitch to roar.
Thanks.
PS-I'm getting Flowmaster-style tips welded up when I'm installing the system... OHHH YEAAAAHHHH BABY

Now there's a thought...cam and roller rockers. BUT that'd require the engine to be torn down...and I'd rather have all of my engine work done at ONCE, rather than have it torn down several times for different parts. I'm thinking maybe a beefy cam, roller rockers, a larger throttle body, and high compression pistons... So, I'll save that for later. I wanna get the basics done first.

And about the Nitrous..I need to get some problems pinned down before I try to run NOS. Namely, a real rough idle, possibly worn motor mounts, an occasional sluggish throttle response (slow idle is my guess)...etc. I don't want to run that much power through the engine until I'm COMPLETELY sure it's stable and running correctly. Plus I get check engine lights now and then...I get spit an Oxygen sensor code (lean).

i have done bussiness with both, and they are both real great people to do bussiness with.
the v8 converter is just what you need, same as ours
I have a catco and I love it!
NOS ain't gonna do anything if your engine can't breath or exhale!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta say Stu.."Project Iroc-Wanna-Z"..I haven't heard anything that funny in a while.
Thanks for the tip..guess I'll find who has more expensive s&h now. Did you or anyone else on here run their car w/o a cat and then with it and compare? Does a hi-flow drain any performance noticeably? I don't wanna lose any power here....but I wanna be emissions legal at the same time, EVEN THOUGH Florida doesn't have emissions tests. I have a few friends that are very very thankful for that. (Namely 84 Trans-Am w/ 4 bbl carb, no cat at all, and running rich with no O2 sensor) That bastard makes me cough everytime he drives past me.

I replaced my cat with a high-flow one because my original had rusted away at the y-pipe. When I broke my original one free of the y-pipe, I found out it had been gutted by the previous owner. I didn't feel any drop in performance.
And I'll send you to Summit...
