vacuum/egr question
Just wondering how many inches of vacuum the egr solenoid is supposed to deliver to the egr valve to open it..was testing mine today with the car quite warm and the most it registered (even at WOT) was maybe 1 inch..not enough to be in the numbers on the gauge. Also how much vacuum should the solenoid be receiving at idle? Just want to know these things before I go replacing all the lines so after I am done I can make sure all is as it should be.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Test your EGR tube by sucking to activate.
As long as it holds, it's good.
Just repalce every hose you feel is supicious.
No plastic lines are available from dealer.
It's an easy fix
5/16" windshield wiper hose to patch plastic cracks.
1/2" hose is base of distributor engine block driver side.
Some OTC shop manuals have those detailed hose pics/diagrams.
It's a simple job with major pleasure benefits.
Engine vacuum at idle is about 16+
With my 3.4 I can pull 17-18 at idle (I have a low milage block).
