What Rims?

i was thinking about getting new rims, i have some cash saved up, the only problem with this it trying to keep the same effective gear ratios.

i currently have 225/60R/15, and i want to have the same physical size of the wheels, but with with 17 inch rims

would that be 225/45/17?? would it look right?
also the two rims i am debating on getting are the

American Racing Torque Thrust II's 17x8
vs
ROH Snypers 17x8
please vote on what you think looks "sharper" on a 3rd gen

225's are going to be too skinny for 17's

there is a mathematical way to figure out your wheel/tire diameter

i dont have i handy right now though

it seems though if you want 17's, i dont see a way around having your tire diameter slightly larger

they both look cool

me with wheels.........so many wheels look good, i like to keep it stock

but the wheels you have gotta go
i had them wheels........POOF! GONE!

i saw 85-87 IROC rims on a sky blue 1970 Z28 today.........i almost nutted in my pants...................those rims look really good on 2nd gens

i personally like those wheels you have picked, plus all IROC rims, 91/92 Z28 rims, firehawk rims.......................it sucks that i have to choose for my Z28 soon...................all i know is that i want 17's cuz i got free 17 inch tires from work

We have still to this day one of the best designed rims that came stock on some Camaros- 87 Iroc rims (single groove). Here is a picture of a car I found on a web site with 18" aftermarket Irocs on it. I perfer them to be chromed though.

Here's a before pic of the same car with stock 16" later model Iroc's(double groove). I don't care for these as much but still are nice.

but i dont want chrome

If the tire is different in diameter then your speedo will be off. I went from the 225/60R/15 stock wheels to P245/50ZR-16 1991-1992 style rims. They are both the same diameter, thus not effecting my speedo. I don't think you can pull off the same thing without having tires with like almost NO sidewall when you're runnin' 17's. Though I could be wrong...

Depending on the car I like a good classic rim. LIke the class M/T alumin rims or Chrome Crager SS.

I hate chrome anymore, pain in the ***. you must clean them daily or suffer.

A classic set of M/T Rims with the blue logo center caps is sweet.

IROC wheels are nice and they would go with the car, most aftermarket wheels look like crap on our cars, besides it begins to smell like rice when you go with aftermaket wheels.

Well I like the IROC's also, but I have the Centerline Fluted 5 stars on mine. I couldnt pass it up. A guy in my club wanted a sleeper look for his 3rd gen and wanted too trade these Centerlines that I have now . For my factory 15 inch IROC rims. Doesnt take a MAD doctor to figure out what I should have choosen. But I REALLY like the tt 2's. BTW Centerlines dont look bad on a 3rd gen either.

I'd have to go with the ROH's.. how do you say that, anyway? R. O. H. or "row"? I can't get into the "classic" rims on 80's and 90's and 2000's cars.
