shoudl be up higher than that....my 85 2.8L will pull nice and strong past 85 mph, infact i've never reached the 110 thingie, actually take that back, was doing 4500 rpm once in 3rd, think that was it, cause the car wouldnt go any faster, and the RPM's never got any higher....

I doubt it'd be the torque convertor. That's driven by engine rpm, not car speed, so you'd have trouble at a certain RPM in all gears. I installed the B&M 4-3 kickdown kit; it's a replacement TV sleeve that allows you to put the go-pedal almost to the floor while in 4th gear. It prevents line pressure from downshifting the trans. It also will basically lock out 4th- if I'm doing 55-60 mph on a highway, I need to floor the gas all the way to get the car to drop into third- instead, I just slap the stick down (B&M megashifter) into third. I like it, but some people might find it annoying- and people that don't know about it might wonder why the car won't speed up
GM does have a 3-4 WOT upshift kit for the 700r4, it came in the B4C police camaros and the corvettes. It's more pieces than just a TV sleeve, though. The B&M kit can be installed without dropping the valvebody; I think you have to drop the valvebody for the GM kit- and at that point, you should think about installing a full Transgo shift kit while you're that far into the trans. You could do the B&M kit next time you drop the pan to change the fluid/filter.

LOL, Eric! Yeah, that's the TransGo kit. They used to come with a video showing "how to install", maybe they still do. But basically, "you get what you pay for" for shift kits. And never ever buy the B&M TransPak. It's the exact same thing as the B&M Shift Improver Kit!! Know the difference? The TransPak comes with a new trans filter, the Shift Improver Kit doesn't. So you're buying a $25 trans filter. Might as well just go to Pep Boys or AutoZone and buy a $12 Purolator trans filter.
