Just wondering what my rear gears are?

I did the 70 MPH test and got about 3100, RPM's

What is the rear gear on a 91, 3.1?

should be 3;42 gears but that rpm sounds a little high for 70. do you have a stick or auto. maybe somebody swaped gears before you for bigger ones

No, when you are going 70 MPH, you drop it into Drive, and the RPM's are supposed to read what your rear gears are....

That's why it is higher...
It's actually about 2250-2500 when I'm in OD and doing 70...

I thought the 3.1's with auto's got a 3.23 rear gear, not 3.42 ...

Do you have the original size tires/wheels on it? If the tires/wheels are different, your speedometer will be off and you couldn't do the 70 mph in 3rd trick.

Well I have 215's, and I think 3.23 would probably be closer, since It said 3100 rpm's when i did it.

My auto '91 has 3.23's. The manuals got the 3.42.
