Ghetto cold air routing?
Ok, I've been trying to find inexpensive ways to give me little shots of power for my car lately..and just recently I bought a shiny blue aluminum conical for my intake. I pulled the intake arm completely off and ran the conical from the end of the flex rubber tubing.. Barely made hood clearance.. Car runs a little better than before..pulls a tad harder...but mostly just looks and sounds better. I'm going to go to home depot and try to get me some 3 inch to 3 1/4 inch a/c ducting and I want to try to route the tubing elsewhere in the car where I can attach that conical...somewhere down low where I can get a nice cold air effect. I don't know where to route it yet but I'm trying to avoid chopping anything up. Also, rain is a concern.. If you guys have any ideas, I'd love to hear. I've thought about running it straight down, but the entire tube would pick up engine heat..so..I don't know. Thanks..you guys rock. As usual. :hail:
PS-I'll take a pic of my new intake setup as soon as the rain stops over here...

Haven't been able to tell yet. As far as I know though, at least it's equal to the setup I had before. I don't see any improvements in power, it just looks better and the engine sounds better when it's revved up. But see, I was concerned about the heat too in that area, that's why I want to re-route the damned thing! I'm thinking the plate where the old filter sat on.....if I could unscrew and pull the sucker out and get some clamping or such, and run the tube through there straight into this nice little notch before the fender..that would be PERFECT.
