Timing Chain Check
Hey guys, I recently got the timing adjusted along with a new chain done on my 92 S10 4.3L. And wow it really restored the power, before it was running really sluggish. Well I'm thinking maybe I should check the chain and timing on my 89 Firebird V6 jus tto see if it helps the car out like it did my s10. It only cost bout $135 with labor to get it fixed too. I'm thinking I'll probly get a double roller chain also. What u guys think.
Dollar for effort, one of the BEST things you can do for these V-6 engines. Think of this timing chain job as a cheap engine rebuild.
It truly feels like that much power restored.
STRONGLY SUGGEST
GET A SLEEVE FOR THE BALANCER snout.
It's four dollars. Pioneer makes them.
The timing chain set up I got is Dynomax or something like that & was like $30. Local pep Boys.
Will last 50-75K miles easily.
Try to go inexpensive, as by the time the chain dies/wears out again, will you really want to keep the car?
Pull out distributor and rebuild that too.
Your engine will SING to the stronger upper rpms, like never before!
