I knew the V8 would use more gas, but I really miss my V6 gas mileage. Don't listen to those fools who say a powerful 8 will get 2 mpg less than a V6. Maybe all highway WITHOUT hammering the gas, but otherwise when/if you get an 8 expect to pay out some gas money.

What has been done to the LT1? What transmission, and rear gears? My 6 speed 97 SS got 24mpg on the highway with 4.11 gears and a near.600 lift cam.

It's bone stock. On the highway it gets good mileage, but through the city it takes a dip. Also, when you hammer it here and there the gas mileage goes to hell. With my V6 I could get 300+ miles per tank while hammering it. I guess my reason for posting is to tell everyone to enjoy the economy of their V6's.
