my friend want to race my car he has a 1983 volvo 240 GL with a k&N air filter. i have a 1984 v6 2.8. does any one know who would win.

 

well if its a 5 cyl turbo then no, but you should if its not.

 

That's one of the nicest pre-85 Firebirds I have ever seen!

How'd you get those rims? They were a special option for the V8 with 5 speed! When I bought my car, I had those rims on, didn't know what they were. I guess the guy before me swapped them on. Only problem is, he somehow removed all the clear coat from the aluminum outer ring from 3 out of 4 wheels. I'll have them re-cleared some day, or maybe do it myself, but take care of those wheels!

 

Ya i was wondering about those rims i never seen them ever on any other firebirds. Those rims where on the car i bought it. Do u have any sugestion on what to use on them to cean them all up?

 

Did you use ground effects off of a later model car, or does it have a different model year front clip on it? My 1984 Trans Ams have the inserted grills in the nose. All the firebirds got the louvered style inserts, while the TA's got solid ones. I was just curious.

My guess is that an '83 Volvo GL, unless it is some kind of rare performance model, is going to be pretty heavy, and not too powerful. You would probably take him.

the ground fx are off a newer model trans am. it took alot of work to getthis car the why it looks now. the insides are in mint, i will have a pic of them soon. thanks for all the comps an my car.

 

I have a set of those rims. They were on my 79Z when I bought it. 1 is pretty gouged, but the other three are good. I'll probably be getting rid of them in a few months if anyone is interested.
