custom grill

Hey all,
I just fabricated a custom grill for my 92rs out of gutter guard, Ill have pics up soon. Easy and cheap mod...paid 1.25 for materials, compared to a 30.00 sheet of mesh they sell at autozone or elsewhere...

Hmmm...
I would like to see that and any other ideas that anybody might have for replacing the grills on a 1983 Firebird. It is a car that belongs to a friend, and he can't afford to buy new $40-$50 grills. It would be nice if we could find or make something that would be decent looking. Right now he has the original grills still on the car, but the passenger side grill has a hole where a duck smashed through it, and the drive side one has a hole as well and is broke in another spot.

Thanks for any help - and thanks ahead of time for posting the picture.

This sounds cool. Can't wait to see the pics. For a 1.25, how could you go wrong, and if you don't like it, your out nothing.

Oh f---, a duck...

Yeah I never liked the grills on the 82-84 Firebirds... they always looked cheap to me. When I had the '84 parts car, the guy must've been fog-light obsessed. He had a ton of black electrical tape over the top and bottom of the headlights to make them into thin rectangles. He had two fog light mounts screwed into the bottom of the bumper, but they were cracked; I guess he hit a curb. And then he cut up the grills to have two more fog lights inside the bumper!! What a nut! Especially driving around with the tape over the headlights!!

LOL, right! It was some sort of suicide duck, just flew straight at it....
Yup, checked the local junkyards, no luck.

The correct intake installation term is: "Cold Air Duct" not "Cold Air Duck"
