Throttle Body Rebuild Kit??
Is their a rebuild kit with gaskets n stuff like that for our cars?? I kinda fubared part of mine around the IAC, and I can get that part from salvage yard MUCH cheaper then I can get the whole TB, and I am more then willing to spend the time to fix it?? IF such a kit exist, please hook me up with a part #

Me?
I'd got find a used one in the yard.
Why waste time rebuilding?
OR get two, one working & one for parts to figure out how to rebuild.
BUT
Think of this item as the base plate for a carb.
Just slightly different.
Same ideas apply, a clip holds all together or screw, then parts slide out/apart.
YOU CAN GET SPARES on FWD cars UP TO 1986 model year.
They are the "same" as the Fbodies.
BUT can't interchange as the "fittings" are in a different location.
NO A FIERO UNIT CANNOT WORK FOR THE EXACT SAME REASON, even tho they say "Holley" on them.

These examples all bolt right up to the third gen MPFI units.
It's the positioning/attachment points of the cables for proper geometry of operation that kills "perfect swap".
And honestly anything that can be done to a Fiero TB, can be applied to ours, with the right knowledge, tools and effort.
And a spare ride for the sorting out phase.
I was a bit surprised but not shocked to see the 1985-86-87 FWD cars with the third gen MPFI on it.
Again, the difference in INTAKE is the positioning of the TB.
The FWD & Fiero INTAKES dips down and toward the right, to clear under hood engine bay suspension stuff.
And the cable attachment point is different and the angles different, in the FWD & the Fiero examples.
Next time ya in the yards, just start looking.
I found several cars, close by & had the curosity/education time to figure/check this out.
The Fiero/FWD V-6 valve covers (up to 1987 model year I believe) fit our third gen rides, as the HEADS are identical.
You 3.1 people, look to the 3.1 powered FWDs for your EXPENSIVE EGR alternative. They are the same, I believe. Check to see if fitment is correct, tho.

So their is no rebuild kit?? I just need that little part that the IAC hooks up to, and I see a gasket underneith. I hate getting junkyard units and taking the chance of them not working.

Oh, bummer, it's the throttle linkage? That sucks. I've never seen a MPFI 2.8 Fiero in the junkyards, every Fiero I've seen has had the 4 cylinder motor.
Dale, I'm pretty sure Felpro makes a kit with the gaskets. You could actually cut them yourself out of a roll of thin black gasket material (pep boys or similar, $3) and an exacto pen knife. There wouldn't be much to a junkyard TB that wouldnt work... you could always swap your IAC valve and TPS over to the junkyard TB. Either way, if you do or you don't swap the TPS, make sure to check the TPS voltage, to see if you have to adjust it (85-89 cars only).
One think to check on a junkyard car though is how the butterfly feels. My dad had an Oldsmobile with the 2.8 MFPI motor, and one day, he could barely press on the gas. The gas pedal seemed to have frozen "up", and if he did press it down, he almost had to stand on it. Turned out that the bushing that the butterfly pivots in had worn out. Our mechanic replaced the bushing, but it did it again in a few months. So we got a junkyard TB for $20 and put it on, no problems. (But back then I didn't know about the TPS, and forgot to adjust it, oops!)

Hum, make my own gaskets
I like that idea. I gotta go get break hose for my teal beast anyway, so I will ask about a true kit. Thanks. To bad our intakes wont take a bigger bore tb, I bet they could use it.

CUBIC INCHES
Better airflow to engine
Then an enlarged TB may be beneficial.
I'll have to meausure the 1995 3.4 TB to see if there any difference.
Kinda doubt it, tho.

I was thinking about doing that myself. swapping the 3.4 TB out w/ the 3.1 TB on my car now. I m going to really look at this detail tonite. That way I m upgrading all around. I mean heck I got bigger injectors already and waitting to go on this new engine I got. Also a ported and polished intake to mount them too.
