I've heard that in NJ, if they catch you with the bottle connected and the valve open, they impound the car. I also hear that if the cop's being a *****, they can arrest you for carrying a controlled substance!! Aint that some sht.

not sure but ive heard of cheater systems, using quick connect hose like you see on truck plows. it disconnects without leaking anything, even under pressure.

Technically in all 50 states, its legal to have in the car for transport.. so you can have it in there.. the line gets drawn at connections.. if the hose is connected to the bottle valve, then its illegal.
It varies from state to state....most of the time the hard and fast rule is that you can have it on your car, but you cannot RUN it on the street. As far as what rules are in place for your state/municipality, call your local emissions testing center, and they'll tell you the deal.

Its called Nitrous, Nitrous Oxide, or the bottle, not nos. Unless you're pronouncing it N.O.S. letter by letter.
N.O.S. stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems, A brand of Nitrous.
It is not illegal here in Alabama. Maybe it is in your state.

Just thinking, dont know the safty issues, or if the track would like it but on the street. you could hide the bottle in a speaker box. bolt it down and run everything out the bottom and hidden.
a cops would need a warrant or need your permission to look in the truck of a regular car, but in a thridgen n all that glass its kinda hard to hide.

if its a vented or port box a good bass tune would keep it free of gas build up if it leaked by chance.

well update, lots of states [ like Ohio] have new laws, NOS in a street car is an automatic street racing offence, your car can be siezed and or crushed.
