Who wants Headers?

Ok here is the deal, Right now I'm talking to the major 5 header manufacturers to see if they will make headers for the 3.1L V6's. It seems to be going ok so far, I'm looking to have them jet coated inside and out and I'm looking for full length headers. I need to know how many people would want these if I could cut us a deal, I'm gonna need atlease 15 people, if you are interested e-mail me @ polk_cavalier@msn.com and put V6 in the subject, I will keep a list and I will update the info I get on this site. Let's see if we can do this people. Later!

Price Quote? I promise you they will charge at least $400-500 per set and CHC can't even sell his around here to 15 people for $150 per set. The only market for these is mainly younger people with no money.

I'm not trying to **** anyone off with this comment, I'm just stating honest facts that you are most likely wasting your time in this positive effort.

So far Edelbrock quoted me $330 and I got $400 from Dynomax and they are promising +20 hp. It seems like a fair frice to me. Who is this CHC? What are his headers like? Any pictures? I want headers that wont rust inside or out.

I'm always interested...although you know how long it's gonna take for them to manufacture and get these out? I'm thinking with R&D and everything, a year or two. Ugh..I want instant gratification! I'm a youth, dammit, that's what we live on!

I am C_H_C, or Camar_Hunter_c/Camaro_hunter_d

I have 2 sets done, another halfway done. I am going to try to get 2 out tomarrow. Sorry guys. I promise I will have 3-4 sent out THIS FRIDAY. As far as pics, www.geocities.com/generationxracing/MainPage follow the links. If you want to spend 3-4 times what I was going to sell for, go for it. But your also on a long waiting list. And you have to wait for more R&D time from them. but hell I tried to sell mine here, no one bit. so I have 6 sold. and 3 more to finish making. then I will decide if I want to make any more. I barely have time to work on my car let alone these damn headers.

I thought you got in? I have 1 other person tring/promising to give me their next daughter(LOL) if I make a set for their son. I should have 2-3 sets after these 6 so that might leave 1 for ya. After I get these first ones done(I will post on the board) email me.
After all extra $$$ never hurts. I am looking at selling/parting out my T top, and getting a different car. BTW if any need T Tops, good glass, a rear hatch, hood, RF fender and the 25th Aniversary 16" wheels or any other misc parts let me know. I am getting rid of the damn car. Sick of looking at it.

If you could get headers for less than $300, then I would be very interested.

Just out of curiosity, will headers for the 93-95 3.4 fit on a 3.1?

N/A, 3.4 headers will fit a 2.8 or 3.1 ENGINE, but they won't fit the car chassis. Blows big floppy donkey d*ck, eh?

I would definetely be interested in headers. I called summit and they have none on their computers (I'm sure I'm not the only one who's done this ) Anyway, I've got an 89 Camaro with a 3.1 V6 - finally got it in and my tires spin for real now. No need for the break! Anyways, if anyone can cut me a deal, I'd appreciate it. Keep me posted....

If you are parting out your car would you be willing to cut off the t-top roof on your car, like the whole thing?

I got the 3.1 out of a 91 firebird. If I would've started visiting this site before I bought the motor, I would've bought a 3.4. Oh well, if you read my other post about it, you'll see I dont mind

Yes I realize the S&H would be huge but I know a trucking campany that would come right to your house and load it on the truck. I don't want to pay alot for this thing. The money would be more for your labour of cutting it off the car than the acual part it's self which you couldn't really sell to anyone else. Basically I would want the thing cut at the bottom of the front windsheild pillars and in the lower middle of the sail panels.

I also see these sold on ebay all the time. never really paid attention to how much they sold for. i wuld say 60-70 bucks plus the packing and S&H. i think I could just make a wood/cardboard box from lowes or something.

The 3.4 Headers will fit the engine, not the car

I am selling my headers from CHC if anybody wants them let me or him know. He will ship the Friday...
