v6 vortex
is it possible to take a v6 tortex motor out af an astro van and put it into a 84 firebird? I know u would have to change a lot of Sh$t, but is it possible. Would it not be like really fast!!

Well it would be faster than the 2.8 but here's the reason its not often done:
You need to change the tranny
The current trans has a different bellhousing than the 4.3 Vortec.
The 4.3 has the same bellhousing as a chevy V-8. So you need a V-8 trans. For this reason, many people just move up to a V-8 because the amount of work is just the same and the performance gains are greater than a 2.8 to 4.3 swap.

Plus... what cam did GM throw into the Astrovan's 4.3? I'm betting it wouldn't be ground like a street car's cam would. (Kinda like a truck cam makes it's power at lower rpm's for off-roading and towing, but a car cam makes power at higher, wide-open-throttle ranges)
