Getting ready for sale...
Okay - so, against my wishes, I'll be selling my car
. I must replace my steering column and fix the hatch because I do not want to try and sell it the way it is. When the a$$hole stole my car, he peeled the column and now I must start my own friggin car like a theif (which really sucks at gas stations when cops are around). The hatch motor is fried and I think I want to replace the whole mechanism. Found one at a boneyard for $35. As for the steering column, they want $200. They told me it's "89 only" so they're hard to come by. Then he told me since mine was so bad he would take mine and give me the rebuilt one(keys and all) for $150. What do you all think. I dont want to implusively buy this stuff for 200 bux and find out I could've gotten a better deal.
Thanks,
Jay

I know that the first year for an airbag was 1990, and I believe that the first year for the PassKey system was 1989. It may be that 1989 is the only year car with the PassKey system, and no airbag. Correct me if I am wrong about those years.

makes sense...in that case I would get an older column and just bypass the vats/passkey. Save some dough and do away with the worry of that damn key for the next owner
oh yeah, see if Jim at thirdgenparts.com or bruce at hawks can help you get a column, hehe gotta plug the sponsors
