Dress up? Hmm... Ditch the factory rims..although I have to admit, they look kinda good on your car..I don't know why..I've never seen a car on which I liked those rims...kinda weird. I'd say some gunmetal 5 spokes maybe...or for a contrast, painted white. Racing stripe it...stripes are simply unbeatable... Get seat covers for the interior, a shift ****...matching floor mats.. Tach with a shift light...just not too big.

Looks good as is. Dress up is all up to you. I would say possibly rims, but with new tires, don't want to do that yet. Maybe clear fender lights?? Are your windows tinted yet??
Thats my only suggestions, just spend the $ on the engine

I think that the car looks clean and neat the way it is. A good set of 17" aftermarket 5 spokes would look great, but barring that, I don't think I would do too much to it. I personally think that neon lights, fender lights, and things like that detract from a car's looks, and are simply fads that will fade away soon. That is my opinion only, and more power to you if you want to do such things to your car.
Maybe you can do what I did, and pick up a factory set of 16 inch wheels and put on your car. With your car not having the ground effects, it would look like a Formula just by adding the wheels. I'm not saying to put the decals on it and all that, but it would look pretty cool in my opinion.
I guess if it were mine, I would fix up the interior nice, put a pretty good sound system in it, and then put the rest of the money into HP and suspension upgrades, maybe a 4 wheel disc brake conversion, things like that.

thanx for the feedback guyz...its still a little bare as i haven't put the moldings emblems and bird decals on it yet...but the 16's sound good because it will look like a formula with just that...the sound is already good...i got a kenwood deck that glows black and orange which matches the rest of the interior lighting scheme with kenwood 6x9's in the back...need new fronts...plus i got a tiny amp coming...my interior is practically new...need to find a set of black seatbelts...new carpet...new headliner...and i'm getting a seat re upholstered...so that will finish up that project...after christmas i'll dive into the motor and see what i can do...thanx again guyz...talk to you again soon...

Bitchin' paint job, looks great! Get those side door moldings on FAST... and if you do them yourself, I'm sure you won't do what I did, but, lay masking tape down first as a guide. I started doing the side moldings on my car, on the driver's side, and said "Ah, I don't need to use tape." Yeah well mid-way on the door, I notice I'm going uphill. I try to peel the molding off, oops, specs of new paint came off with it. So I put the molding back on, and tried to curve the molding back down. Did the passenger side with the tape, and it came out great. Masking tape it so the bottom of the tape is on the crease line of the door. Then lay the side molding so the top of the molding tape meets the bottom of the masking tape. Or if you want, I suppose you could aim the bottom of the masking tape so the molding is pressed on in the exact center of the crease. But tape it first, stand back 50 feet, ask some friends to make sure the tape is straight, etc... I'm just glad I did the driver's side first and not the passenger side!

Are you going to try to re-cover your headliner board? There's a tech article about it on the thirdgen.org tech section... I hear the new foam-backed material is a bit pricey ($40) but it's cheaper than having a shop do it for ya. Also do a search for headliner on the body&interior page. And I guess you know that http://www.1aauto.com has the cheapest price on the ACC carpet?
Do you have chrome exhaust tips? If not, I think they'll help out the aggressiveness of the car. How long before you can wax it? Give the rear bumper a good coat of wax...
Also, what color's the undercoating in the rear wheel wells? When I got my car, it wasn't black anymore, it was a dusty color, I guess from getting pelted with dirt for years. Mask off your paint, take the wheel off, and spray the inside of the back wheelwells with black spray paint... preferably a flat paint. It's amazing how much better the car looks when the rear wheel wells aren't obvious anymore!
But otherwise, I can't think of anything... looks great!! How are you liking that new-paint-smell? If I could've somehow put that smell in a bottle, I would've... (sigh) good times...

I think most newer cars would look worse witht he white letter because of the profile being so low, but then again I don't like the look of 18 inch rims with 30 seris tires, looks too out of balance to me.
My 87 was that color, and I liked it. It looked really good after a wax job, the metallic paint would really shine in the sun.

Hey man your car looks really nice , one thing that i love on the birds is gfx my fav being off the 84 T/A's in fact theres an 84 T/a up ABC auto salvage in Burriville. Where was that pic taken it looks really familiar but i cant think of the name of the street / building. They require some fabrication (the gfx) to go onto our type noses but Redraif did it and it looks sooo nice , another thing that looks badass is what she did to the little black bumpers on her nose.

Tom, I'm running BFG Radial T/A's too...the white letters look GREAT. I really do hate those tires though. They don't grip all that great...but they wear extremely fast. I've had the car for like a year and I've replaced the 2 rears, then the 2 fronts, and now my 2 rears are bald again. Like, bald past the legal limit.....bald like they look like racing slicks. Argh.
BTW, JP, PLEASE don't put clamp on/screw mount tips. I know, I know..they look good...but they rust like you would not believe. I had a pair on for about 10 months and when I took them off, rust powder fell everywhere..and I grabbed the end of the tailpipe to see how brittle it was..and a chunk of it broke off. I've got tips welded now...although they're getting rust stains on the inside. I swear everything that comes anywhere near those tailpipes rusts...even high quality real chrome tips!
