okay i just bought a 91 rs with a 3.1. the guy bought it from said that the ERG valve was leaking. is this a nessicary part of the engine or is it smog stuf that can be removed and not have any problems. also are there any free mods i can do to this engine to give me a little more power? and is there any smog stuff i dont need. i live in missouri and dont have smog tests or anything like that so thats not a problem for me. o and just to let u guys know, when i was at this guys house he showed me his sweet 68 camaro that runs 11.8s this thing had like 31x18s on it . the thing was clean too. thanks for your ansers.

When ya get this motor running right it's a sweet package.
Not high on power but good long life runner.
You can fix your EGR with parts from the 3.1 & 3.4 FWD models.
Make it work correct, it's not like the old days.
I know as I have a 1967 RS/SS 4-Speed Convert Camaro (with a Corvette 1970 LT-1 mill) & a 68 Camaro Secretary Special (6 cylinder, auto, console, PS) and a 74 Corvette.
I like the new days when it works correct cause it's great!
