Why am I grinding

Hey fellow third gen peeps,

I've got a 92 RS 5-speed-and she is starting to worry me. When I start her up, I'm getting a serious grinding sound possibly from the tranny. I can feel it all the way through the stick. It feels like when you're shifting and you grind it. It happens when it starts and even while I'm driving-no I'm not a new stick driver-I've not grinding the gears-but it feels like its doing it on its own....I don't know-any help is appreciated.

tranny couldnt grind on start up unless the clutch is not disengaging all the way.

does it slip at all? if no it sounds like the clutch master or slave cyl. may be bad, check the master for air bubbles or signs of corrosion also check the color of the fluid inside it should look like new brake fluid. that would also explain the grinding feel and sound when driving

throw out bearing and or someone put regular gear lub in the tranny and in these colder months or make some noise untill it gets warmed up.

T-5 in the book and ask the dealer and they will say to use atf auto trans flud in it. yep aft

but guy at junk yard told me to run straight 30w oil to make it last allot longer , only thingi s you gotta let it warm up a bit when it cold. but I dont hear any noise from that but maybe if thee is 89-90 or straight 90 in there it might make some noise.
