I do know of a black reupholstered interior.
Floor mats would work great.

Why do Camaros in White look better than Firebirds in White?

Looking good Jenn.

The only thing I would do, is get rid of that ugly steering wheel.
Those were the worst ones that came with tha camaro...

Looks good, esp for a 84. I would have to say the hubcaps would be the worst part. However, they are original, and whole car looks original.

Nice car!!

I disagree so much!

Those hubcaps & nice touch white walls make the car stand out even more!
I think it's one CLASSY touch!
Especially since they are GM delivered.
Now the Steering Wheel........I know a guy at Grant Steering Wheels if that helps.
YET.....
TONS of steering wheels in the local yards that are the hardest things to remove!
PICK ANY GM vehicle, as they all "interchange".
I've seen the 70's Firebirds Steering wheels appearing lately, that would be a nice upgrade.
SO FORTUNATE TO SCORE SUCH A DECENT EARLY EXAMPLE!
Wanna detail my 1985 Firebird?

All our Familys old 1966 & 1974 Sting Rays had the factory wheels & White Wall tires. And were White Corvettes, too. Well the 1954 was Red, but Wire wheels hubcaps & white walls, too.

IF 3rd Gens car was a Z-28 or another "brought back from near death 3rd Gen F Body", sure Mag wheels.

i actually got the car like this, the only thing i've replaced are the tires and iv'e cleaned up some of the engine but it still needs engine paint (which is why i didn't post pics of it)

when i first got it i wanted to replace the hubcaps with iroc ones, but i also wanted to keep the car as original as possible. i'm still deciding about what i'm going to do with them. (my brother insisted that the caps came from an oldsmobile...until he read the writing on them that said "berlinetta")

and yes, that steering wheel is a pain and it's ugly... i actually have to punch the wheel just to use the horn. lol. and KED i might actually check out the junkyard before i buy a brand new one...but if i do need one i'll let you know (since you already know of someone).

thanks for the comments.

I like it. It looks classy. It reminds me of the old white buick Rivieras. The body looks really good - I wish I could say the same about mine. I have only seen 1 other thirdgen with those kind of wheels and they were on an 82 TA.

I wish I scored mine so clean.
My Wife & her girlfriend mock me as I have no headliner fabric, just the fiberboard.
Wife's girlfriend was told I paid $300 for the car & it was all the sudden, ok.
$300 a month wouldn't buy my Wife's friend parking space for one month where she lives in Japan.

Never fear, you scored great!
PS Watch your nose when ya pull off an old car steering wheel. There could be a 1/2 price sale day soon for the holidays! Call around.

Good looking car!! I had the same steering wheel on my car, swapped it out for a 89/90 Cavalier wheel.... much better grip which makes for better drivability

Not to be picky, but I don't see any badging or identifiers to set the car off as a berlinetta. I have an 83 sport coupe and my dash is exactly the same a yours (idiot lights and all). I'm not sure if the "star wars" digital dash was standard on berlinettas from 84-86 but They did have the gauge cluster with temp and oil and charging gauges.

Also, because berlinettas had the "deluxe" interior, they would of had the split rear back seat and more carpeting then the standard interior.

Again, not trying to flame, but your car (which is nice BTW) looks like an 84 sport coupe with berlinetta hubcaps.

hmm MD has a point, no star wars dash, no radio/cassette pod, didn't berlys get a different wheel? no badging, hmm is there an overhead console?

is there an RPO or a VIN indicator for a berlinetta?

No matter what that is a very clean looking car, looks good. Instead of IROC wheels, maybe some 15x7 early Z28 wheels, My SC had those and they looked good, plus tires are a lot cheaper for 15" than 16". A new guage cluster would be an easy upgrade too, needles are better than lights

I believe the difference is in the VIN. I know the 85-86 Berly's had a 1g1FS87.... in the vin where as sport coupes and Z's got 1G1FP87...

I is my understanding that because of the different VIN, there will be no RPO for the berlinetta. If you wanted a berlinetta, it was considered another car (seperate from the Camaro). The Z-28 was an option on the Camaro

im 95% sure all the 84 berlinettas came with the swivel radio and berlinetta written on the steering wheel, there is a 84 berlinetta at a junk yard i frequent with the LT type rims the belinetta wheel overhead console swivel radio stock louvers it was nice and the interior was much nicer than a sc and it looks like you may have an sc

As for carpet, if you decide to buy ACC (Auto Custom Carpet, a GM-authorized reproduction company), buy the carpet thru http://www.1aauto.com - they sell ACC carpet for the cheapest price- even cheaper than ACC's own web site! When I ordered, my box came straight from ACC (in Alabama), and I got a receipt a week later in the mail from 1A-Auto.

Oh yeah I just got the passenger section, didn't bother with getting the "full" carpet set for over $200. Nobody sits in the hatchback, anyway. And actually, that's probably why the 16-year-old carpet behind the rear seat is in such good condition!

Sweet.
Its so 80's old school cool.
That has to be the cleanest stock berlinetta I have ever seen.
The only thing I dislike is white. Its my least favorite color on cars in general. Buts that just my opinion, it might have something to do with living on a dirt road .

Dont worry about that, it is still a wicked nice car and ya loved it when ya thought it was a berlinetta so you should still love it as a sport coupe.

Don't worry the car still looks sweet.
I sort of thought it might be an SC by the tail lights, but wasn't too sure. Well atleast now you know.

Its now the most stock cleanest SC I have even seen.

SC
SUPER CLEAN
I just saw a 1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible, beautiful Red, White top.
Like your ride, Sweet, a Classic.
Here it is, what, like 6+ inches of snow in Chicago already and we are not even washing our cars in Southern California.
Wonderful.
White cars do look great in the snow.

No sweat on it being an SC, SC's are great cars My first camaro was actually an SC, I even had a choice between a V6 SC and a V8 Berlinetta, and chose the SC because it looked and ran better I'd still be driving it if it hadn't gotten totalled, it was an all around good car.

I thought body painted windows louvers would look better, but apparently it doesn't. Taking the louvers off my car was one of the best decisons I made.

I liked the look of those 2nd gen Yenkos - they were pricey too.

The Berlinetta model began around the early 70's. It wasn't exactly short lived. It's ultimate demise was due to low sales though.....and i'm glad it's features left with it. Besides the roof console, the other stuff was tacky as hell. Have you ever looked at one in the boneyards????

Wish my FREE Car LOOKED THAT GREAT! Lucky!
I PAID $300 for mine & it was smashed & fuming from overheating!

While still having "works in progress" paint jobs (5 car, what are the odds?), I am amazed that one can say about their one shiny colored fully painted car, that you have to repaint it.
