Stupid Tranny Question on the T5
Why is the input shaft different from the V6 to the V8 T5?
I mean, I'm arguing about the gear ratios, and proved that, but my friend and I cant figure out why the hell GM didn't just use like a 26 spline shaft on both V6 and V8, I'd think it'd be cheaper, and more cost effective!
So what's the scoop, guys?

Could be the people who make the clutch and not really GM. Gm maybe only wanted to only use a 8-9in clutch on the v6 and they only make them that small with so many splines.
