CODE 35...IAC recently replaced???

been pretty rough lately, solved a bunch of stuff that never threw codes....now tonight it threw a code 35.....the stuff i printed up a while back says that is an IAC fault.

well i had recently replaced the IAC (maybe a month or so ago), so i know it is fairly new. could the new one be bad?? should i try to put the old one back in?? someone give me a clue what to do??

There is a way to test and reset the IAC valve on the MPFI 2.8's. Maybe the procedure for the 3.1 is the same.

Basically you disconnect the electrical connection and let the car run. The RPM's should rev up on their own. Shut the car off, reset the computer and plug the IAC back in. If the idle does not smooth out there could be a bad IAC or faulty wiring to the IAC.

Might be some dirt on the contacts of the IAC that you dislodged when you unplugged it and plugged it back in ... ? Strange... don'tchya hate those?
