Dual air intake question

A friend got me this dual air intake system from an older camaro.I am going to put it on my 91 RS V6.Will I notice any difference if I put this on and would it be worth it?

well if you really care about the gains, run a true cold air/ ram air dual intake.

if the filter is exposed under the hood, even with a shield, i dont know how much it helps for it to just be sucking twice as much hot a$$ air.

Yes, the gains are significant. Just be sure to extend the IAT sensor wires to reach the new location within the dual (or Y) air cleaner.

To fill in the MAF location (you'll have a gap between the air cleaner outlet and the rubber bellows) I first used a soup can with some electrical tape on the ends for fit. I've since switched to a piece of PVC (needed to machine it also). Of course a MAF will also work for a filler.

Can see Nixon1's recent post about the 'Guess the mystery mod' for what I found.

RBob.

Thanks

I got it today.Looks like it came out of a 86 2.8 v6.I will have to extend the wired for the IAT sensor. No biggie. There is a MAF tube there,so that will fill in the gap between the Y-shape ducts and the rubber snorkel going to the throtle body.I am going to try to turn the MAF tube around to see if I can make the tube coming from the crankcase cover line up with the one on the MAF tube.If it is going to be a hassle,I'll plug it up and get a breather to replace the tube coming from the crankcase valve cover. Thanks for the input guys.

It seemed about same to me. tone did get a "Tad" deeper.

Noone else had both set ups before, so I had half the v8 intake, so I got other half and installed so it would be easier for mrs to check/change filters.

Plus, this is lighter then my CAI I made.
