I swaped the steel wheels for Z wheels, relaced the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires along with a accel super coil and it made all the difference in the world, I also got better gas mileage

Since we don't want any fights here, I think Brian K should box them up and ship them here to PA. And of course I will pay shipping! :lala:

Usually, stock replacement wires are thinner than aftermarket; with less insulation, the spark can "leak" out of the wires. You can see this on a dark night if you open your hood with the engine running- you'll see blue sparks jumping out of the wires into the body of the car. Plus, lots of people NEVER change their plug wires, and run with the same plug wires for years. As plug wires get old, their insulation deteriorates, causing even more spark leak. Even just getting grease or oil on a plug wire can hurt the insulation. These same people with their old plug wires have usually never changed their distributor cap & rotor, either. This is why I recommend doing a major tuneup once a year.

Aftermarket plug wires are usually at least 8mm thick and have lower resistance per foot. This means more spark to your plugs.

Our 85-92 2.8's have a remote coil HEI ignition. This means that the ignition is pretty darn good already. The only improvement youll feel is if you add a higher voltage spark coil, like one by MSD or Accel.

But adding an MSD 6AL box (or Accel 300+ box or Crane HiFire box or etc) won't give you any extra improvement. I installed my MSD 6AL simply because I ran out of mods to do to the 2.8- and I barely noticed any difference.
