Spark Plugs
Spark Plugs
Hey does anyone else have the same problem as me. I have the 3.1 mfi engine and i want to change the spark plugs but i have the alternator in my way of one of them. Is there an easy way around or do i have to take it off and put it back on then when i am done.
Any help would be appreciated, even an answer would be appreciated. Later

Heres how it goes...
5/8" deep well 3/8 drive socket
3/8 swivel
3/8 drive 6" extension
3/8 ratchet.
Works every time for me.

I had the same problem.. If you absolutely can't get tools in there, you can take the EGR tube off...but personally, I'd rather do the alternator...less chance of me screwing things up. All I did was turn the belt tensioner and slip the belt off, take out the bolts holding the alternator except one, and just rock it out of the way...it's just a tad trickey to get it to line up again sometimes.
