down and out again.

Alright, I'm so fed up. I'm broken down for the third time this month. First it was my transmission cable all screwed up and then having problems with the installation of my megashifter, then a week later my alternator went. Now, I start driving down the street and my RPMs go sky high and i get poor acceleration. My car is idling so rough and the engine light is on. i don't get it, I'm falling apart. I've been driving my car all week jut fine then BAM. I was going to try to run the codes by myself but it's just too darn cold to be messing around with my car outside. I'm taking it back to the mechanic tomorrow. My dad thinks it's a sensor that's possibly going. Besides a sensor going wrong, what else can cause my RPMs to sky rocket like that?

Damn X...all that in the snow? I feel sorry for ya... I couldn't even begin to guess to what's going on without the codes....shouldn't take more than a few minutes to pull them. Pile on every old piece of clothing you have and be a man. Look on the bright side... Your car still runs.

My Camaro left me with a fried starter, shortly followed by a fried solenoid, in a parking lot 8 miles from home the day before Christmas Eve. 8 mile tow on Christmas eve...$65. Brand new, remanufactured, lifetime warranty starter...$70. The look on my face when I successfully started the car on Christmas Eve with no money in my wallet.....priceless. Even more priceless...the look on my face when, a week later, the car failed to start in my driveway and displayed the same symptoms...although after LITERALLY kicking the car, I checked the battery and it was fried. It was pro-rated and still under warranty at Discount..didn't know this..out of shear luck I walked away with a brand new Autocraft Silver battery for $1.60.

Nope sorry, I'd prefer being the woman that I am and staying inside hehe.

Code 45 came up. Rich exhaust. My mechanic didn't have time to look into it further. He thinks it's an O2 sensor but before he goes out and replaces my sensor i want him to check for vaccuum leaks. I gotta take the car back Monday and we'll go from there.

That's such an easy code to figure out...
Your Ignition Control Module died and caused the Oxy sensor to inhale gasoline fumes.
Easy fix!
replace ICM & be done with it!
WHY I KNOW THIS
My ICM died at 75MPH
At side of road, I pulled codes (I always drive with paperclips for testing)
I had a code 45
Of course due to unburnt fuel on the oxy sensor, caused by no spark while engine "WAS" running.....

Well we were all wrong. Fuel injectors #2, 4 and 6 are going. They are giving off too many amps again causing my computer to shut down. The exact thing happen this past summer and I had to replace injectors 1,3, and 5. My mechanic said he drove the RS around for a good hour or so letting it heat up and when he had to park it for a minute and shut it off he couldn't restart it again until the next morning. I should of figured it was my injectors. However, the last time my car didn't idle really rough. I drove it around for a while with the starting problems just thinking i had a starter going. But then I drove it a couple miles, turned it off and wasn't able to start it up for 4 hours.

oi, there goes my bonus check.

Man what are the odds..you blow injectors 1, 3, and 5, and then 2, 4, and 6....that's some bad luck..

[Nitpick] Injectors don't give off amps, they DRAW amps. The amount they draw is determined by the resistance of the injector. If an injector is shorted, the resistance is changed allowing the injector to draw more amps to itself and less amps to the other injectors(with sequential fuel injection, other injectors aren't affected by another shorted injector) causing a serious driveability problem. [/Nitpick]
