3.4 Questions

When I did my 3.4 swaps, I found LOW MILAGE USED RUNNING MOTORS. One motor was 50K & one was a 44K example.
I buy COMPLETE LONG BLOCKS, FULLY DRESSED (any wrecking yard understands this term).
I paid $800 for one, the following year I paid $900 for the other.
I DEFINETLY got my monies worth for each penny spent.
My Firebird pulls like a FREIGHT TRAIN!
My Blazer to be started very soon-sprained shoulder slowed down the final finished product
SO WORTH IT.
I've coached about 30+ now and NO COMPLAINTS.
DO IT! or buy a newer ride or a V-8 powered ride.
gas milage!
At almost constant 85MPH I got close to 30 MPG on LA to San Diego trip-car packed with Wife & two Year Old Son, too.
Milage depends upon right foot!
Be the FIRST to get a 3.4 crate motor.
Can't rebuild a 2.8/3.1/3.4 for as little as the new 3.4 crate motor cost and get a 12,000 warranty to boot!!
Some here have paid as little at $210 for their 3.4. Average seems $500 range. I pay most & get I feel best option (LOTS of extra parts come on the long blocks I buy! some I sell, some I keep!)
DO RESERCH, ask questions, PLAN.
THIS TAKES TIME to do right.
I "rushed" Firebird project-took about a month. AND not weekends.
DO RESEARCH AND PLAN FOR SMOOTH MISSION good luck.

Working on 3.4l swap, version 4 was what we called it?? In my s10, almost done after 3 months. (taking time, cash flow is problem to)
Trying to talk the mrs into doing 3.4l swap on hers. Shes not convinced yet. But also don't have spare car for her to drive as her spare car got totaled.
It sounds crazy getting better mpg, but now that I look at it closer, your producing more power, with same weight, and less worn out engine. So their for, don't have to push peddle as much.
As KED said, take time, do it right. If you have one doubt about a part, DO IT THEN. You will spend less time and money to fix it while its apart, and outta the car.

I would stick with what you have already for exhaust.
If your not buying the 93-95 camaro doaner engine, you will need to get 17lb injectors from one outta of j/y, or get some new ones from summit/jegs/etc.

Find my 2.8->3.4 Long Block Swap boogie thread.
$500 labor for this swap ain't enough.
It's a labor intensive job.
VERY DETAILED YET easy as can be.
IF new long block, find 3.4 injectors FROM ANY 3.4 powered ride (including a FWD car).
Really it's a very detailed swap
Read my swap thread to be educated.
IF ya get it done for $500 labor ya got a steal.
I wouldn't touch that project for less than a grand.
FACTORY EXHAUST IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION.
Never a dual set up for these V-6's. Just won't work as well.
IF ya got a ride with only 126K now, make that motor last longer.
AND all the stuff ya do to make your current ride last longer, EASILY SWAPS OVER TO THE 3.4 powered ride.
That's the beauty of this swap. KEEP current foundation STRONG, fix for the long term, when current mill dies, swap all the rebuilt new stuff right over, no loss of money on wasted parts for nothing!
TRUE WIN-WIN!
RESEARCH AND ASK ya win-win big time & save money in long run.
