No, it wont swap over.

The camaro tranny has the shifter located futher back, like in tail shaft, were s10 shifter is up in the main body.

The guy that did do this (CaliCamaro) has lost his internet access.
He did the swap in his 1991 Cmamro.
I just saw it other day & man does the job look right & sound good!

For searching purposes (since I'm searching for info on T-5 swaps as we speak) I'm bringing this back from the dead to point out that Dale is absolutely correct (since Karl negated it. BAD KARL).

The shifter on an S-10 tranny is located approximately 12" further forward on the transmission (right behind the main casing, rather than at the far end of the tailshaft). If anyone would like to argue, I *WILL* bust out a tape measure and compare the two, since I do have an S-10 tranny sitting in my shed that I bought before I got the camaro T-5 and CAN'T FREAKIN USE because of the shifter, which would poke out somewhere under the radio... anyone need an '89 S-10 T-5 that can pick it up in southern AZ?

I didn't know the detail on the location of tranny shifter poking out.
Only manual tranny I have is my M-21 for my 1967 RS/SS 350(1970 LT-1) Camaro Convertible for comparison.
That tranny works on many GM Vehicles, including trucks.
I have one stick car (3 motorcycles, too) & rest automatics.
I learned something today.
I only knew of CaliCamaro having done that swap.
LOOKS GREAT, TOO!
He put out alot of effort for correct final operation, had it planned very well.
