Temp Guage not working

After I got my car back from the shop, the temp guage is always as far up as it can go. All the other guages work perfectly normal. The only things I can think of that would cause this are a disconnected oilt temp. sensor, and busted guage. Are these correct assumptions , what else could cause the problem...and where is the oil temp. sensor.

thanx

thanks. after I read your post, I went out and moved the needle on the guage...and it was indeed stuck. So it just fell into place.
